giving and sacrifice

Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;

How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

~ 2 Corinthians 8:1,2

This is a hard tackle: God has made the rewards of your labour one with the nerve of your heart so that to weigh the latter, He just makes a demand for the former. Your money follows your heart and the use of your heart to understand your financial perspectives is an incredibly effective bypass. Therefore, people give not because they have but because they have a heart. Consider that you have been declining to part with that money primarily because of the heart effect of that transaction. Similarly, God will not exactly make you rich in a conventional sense, He just needs to make you wealthier at heart and He will have sorted you.

Until giving is sacrificial, it does not move the heart of God because He knows it has not done anything to yours. This matters because God is in a heart dealership, not the ledger game. Sir, have you ever given your heart or you have been giving arguments now that it is either of the two? Giving an argument is when the left brain is saying 20k is too much while the right one is saying it is right even though the heart is at 40k. How did a year go by without you putting a heart in the basket even a single time? Our capital mantra is that God asks for money so that He can eventually give Himself and that is why it is quite the fierce heart battle.
